Beaumont, TX – The SETx-UIFL Summer Institute 2024 took place from May 14-16 in Beaumont, Texas, hosted by Lamar University. This exciting event brought together over 30 researchers and students from various fields to explore and discuss innovative approaches to environmental engineering and sustainability.
The Summer Institute, presented by Lamar University and the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, featured a series of engaging presentations and discussions. A key highlight of the event was the introduction and exploration of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) concept of Engineering with Nature, aimed at integrating natural and engineering processes for enhanced economic, environmental, and social outcomes. Participants had the opportunity to learn from leading experts, engage in interactive sessions, and network with peers dedicated to advancing sustainable engineering solutions.
